Description
The Airchoc®, or air cannon, is a pneumatic declogging device, also used as a flow aid system. It is designed to break arches and bridges forming in storage silos and hoppers. For over 40 years, its application has been extended to the cleaning of build-ups in thermal processes such as in cement plants, lime plants, steelworks, and incineration plants.
The principle of the Airchoc® consists in using a compressed air tank, with a capacity ranging from 1 to 400 litres, depending on the model. This volume of air is instantly released through a large orifice directly connected to the storage unit. The resulting effect is comparable to a deflagration caused by the sudden expansion of compressed air.
The device is made up of a tank, in which compressed air is stored (up to 12 bar), and a discharge head that releases the air in a very short time.
